Teens die in Charles County accident, officer suspended

Young and inexperienced teenagers are often at greater risk for being involved in a deadly accident that other age groups. These beginning drivers simply lack the ability to make quick judgements based on driving experience. Whether the driver was drunk or distracted, or the accident was caused by a simple mistake, it is always a tragedy when young people lose their lives in motor vehicle collisions.

This is what happened when two 17-year-olds were killed and an 18-year-old was seriously injured in a car crash in Charles County. Authorities say that the vehicle was traveling west-bound when it struck a traffic light post. The wreck was reportedly one of the worst seen in the area, as the vehicle was wrapped around the pole.

Sadly, a week after the accident occurred, a 19 and ½ year veteran of the law force made an inappropriate comment on his Facebook referring to the two deceased teens. The comment included an expletive, and remarked at how the teens should not have been driving so fast. The public reported the comment to administrators. The officer has been suspended while the case is under review.

When people are killed or injured in a car accident, it may bring some relief to speak to a knowledgeable and experienced attorney. A lawyer may help by answering your questions and exploring options when it comes to receiving compensation for your pain and injuries.
